Does your mindset really make a difference? Of course it does!
When you set out to do or change something with unwavering determination, your chance of actually making the change or getting it done increases dramatically.
One of the things we encourage all Ballantyne Weight Loss Center patients to do is to eliminate the word “try” from their vocabulary. You see, when you use the word try, you are giving yourself a subconscious way out.
Let me explain… When you say that you are going to try to do something, you are not saying that you are going to do it. Try to pick up a near by item. You see, you either decide to pick it up, or decide not to pick it up. Trying to pick it up just means you don't think you're going to pick it up.
Think about your previous weight loss attempts. Maybe you told your friend that you were going to try to lose 20 pounds. Chances are that it did not turn out well, and you failed. The conversation probably sounded like this: "Hey, how’s your diet going? Not too good—I tried, but I just couldn’t…"
When you eliminate the word "try," you will either succeed or fail—and nobody wants to fail, so you are most likely to succeed!
